Let's talk about the way we talk to each other.
Let's talk about the way we talk to ourselves.
The latest installment of Lighthouse Media’s “Art of Empowerment” initiative, Please Don’t Call Me Crazy is an event designed around the thoughts we are often too afraid to share. Showing in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday April 20th and Sunday April 21st, this event will change the way you think about art, mental health, and the role we play in our community’s well-being.
This moving and introspective performance delves into the themes of loss, grief, self-belief, and compassion. Inspired by the creator’s life, this one-man show blends the experience of a play with the passion of prose and spoken word. The show aims to inspire empathy and understanding with the audience while highlighting the transformative power of art across generations.
After the performance, mental health professionals will join the artist to discuss the overlap between art and therapy, the difference between therapy and catharsis, and ways people can utilize art within the broader context of mental health and wellness.
